Recommended Operators
Western Australia covers a very
large and variable area, and Turquoise Coast Enviro Tours concentrates
only on one small section of the state.
Below is a list of other operators that we have either used ourselves,
or who come highly recommended by our customers.
This list is provided in the hope that visitors to Western Australia
will enjoy a better “Quality of Experience”. It is by no
means fully comprehensive and Turquoise Coast Enviro Tours receives no
gain
or commission from these operators.
Your “feedback”, in any way, with regard to these suggestions
is appreciated. Accommodation in Cervantes. For a small town, the range is surprising. Check them out. Cervantes Lodge/Pinnacles Beach Backpackers. Website: www.cervanteslodge.com.au Cervantes Pinnacles Caravan Park. Website: www.pinnaclespark.com.au Cervantes Pinnacles Motel. Website: www.bestwestern.com.au
The Kimberley region: The Great Escape Charter Co. Website: www.greatescape.net.au
This is not really one for the budget conscious but represents incredible
value for money. If you want to be treated like royalty in paradise,
then this
is the way to go. We did the Broome-Wyndham 12 day trip and want to go again.
They also run dive trips to the Rowley Shoals. Mike has received several
rave reports about this one. If you do contact them please “tell ‘em
we love ‘em”. East Kimberley Tours. Website: www.eastkimberleytours.com.au These
guys are the Bungle Bungle (Purnululu) specialists. The positive
feedback we have gotten about EKT has been fantastic. We hope our
clients speak about us the same way.
Triple J Tours.
Website: www.triplejtours.net.au
This is another one we have done although, because of the season, we only did
the boat cruise. Jeff has probably never forgiven Mike for pointing out that
the bird flying alongside the boat could not have be a Tern because it was
on it’s own and “one good tern deserves another”.
The Pilbara region:
This is one area where we need more information.
We used to know of a company running tours from Port Hedland to Karijini
but have not be
able to find any recent contact for them.
Cape Range & Ningaloo Marine Park:
We need an update about this area.
Neil McLeod used to run a great tour here but he moved south (along with
Mum’s homemade boiled
fruit cake) to Margaret River and gets our tick later. Feedback much
needed, especially in regards to Whale Shark tours.
The Gascoyne region:
Kalbarri Adventure Tours. Website: kalbarritours.com.au
Another one that comes highly recommended. Davo’s canoeing trip through
the Murchison Gorge is a bit more adventurous but still suited to all ages.
Geraldton area: Batavia Coast Air Charters. Website: www.abrolhosbat.com.au Offering
aerial tours to the Abrolhos Islands, Monkey Mia, Kalbarri and The
Pinnacles, Batavia Coast Air Charter was a winner in the inaugural
(2007) Tourism Council "ELITE AWARDS. Check out their site - they are
good Yamatji Cultural Trails. Website: www.yamajiculturaltrail.com.au
Check this one out. A great chance to see the area and also gain a better understanding
of the oldest culture in the world.
The Turquoise Coast:
Sea Lion Charters. Website: sealioncharters.biz 3 of us from Cervantes went to Green Head to check out the snorkelling around Fishermans Islands. It was great until the Sea Lions came out to join us. Then it got fantastic.
Rodney, the skipper, assured me that this is normal. These
critters have heaps more personality than Whale Sharks. Do it.
Perth area:
There are a large number of companies based in our capitol offering a vast
range of services, more than we can list here. Visit Tourism WA’s website
www.westernaustralia.com
Country Escapes in WA.
Website: www.countryescapes.com.au
Sylvia caters to small groups or individuals seeking high quality, personalised
tours to a variety of different destinations. Highly recommended. Kookaburra Air Tours. Website: www.kookaburra.iinet.net.au If
you have very limited time to see WA then check this out. Darryl,
Kathy and the team will pull out all stops to make your visit to
Western Australia memorable.
Margaret River area:
This is a great area for wine lovers and we strongly recommend that you use
tour operators. It could well be much safer and less expensive.
Margaret River with Neil McLeod.
Website: www.margaretriver-mcleodtour.com Neil
really made a name for himself at Exmouth before moving south (along
with Mum’s homemade boiled fruit cake) back to the area where he
was born and raised. He has a wealth of knowledge and provides a really
top meal.
